If you want to price your home $200K higher than market value, what would you like us to do for you? (edit/delete)

The call of the day arrived this morning. A seller who believes their home should be listed at $600K, when the other homes in the area are priced somewhere between $350-$400K.
They believe there is a market for an over priced home! Heck,it`s their right to do as they please, but what are our rights as Realtors? Do I have to actually take the listing, or in this case would it be better just to say "Thank You" and walk away?
In a turbulent market like we`re involved in it`s wise to sometimes step back and analyze if taking a listing is beneficial to you!
Overpriced listing don`t sell! Spending money on these type of listings no longer makes financial sense, nor will the client who hired you actually believe you.
In the case of this seller, i looked at the history of the listing to find out that it`s been listed three times in the past 18 months. I called one of the other listing agents who had the listing and they confirmed what I believed.
In the new era of Real Estate surviving the market is everything!
